Eco-labels and Green Star NZ

Recognised Eco Labels

The two tables below shows the eco-labels currently recognised within the suite of Green Star NZ rating tools and will be updated as further eco-labels successfully pass through the GBCA Assessment Framework.

Eco-labels that successfully meet the GBCA Assessment Framework will achieve equivalent points to Environmental Choice NZ (ECNZ) during the ‘interim period’. This 'interim period' runs from 1 November 2009 until 31 July 2010.

Update

This 'interim period' has now drawn to a close. During this period four certification schemes have had their standards approved through the GBCA Assessment Framework. At 3 September 2010 there are 20 additional standards that products can get certified against for recognition within Green Star NZ.

The NZGBC are reviewing the impact of this to date, whilst this review is being undertaken the eco-labels below will continue to be recognised. The NZGBC will ensure that any changes to the approach above will be communicated to industry in good time.

The NZGBC will be holding an event for members, to consult on this issue, in late October 2010. Please look out for updates on this in our member newsletter and on this page.
