Building Momentum #36 | July 2021

Written by NZGBC | 12 July 2021

International architecture firm Warren and Mahoney and New Zealand’s top window and door supplier, Architectural Profiles Ltd (APL), have given a huge boost to all New Zealanders who want our buildings to be better.

The two highly regarded companies have done that by becoming corporate sponsors of the New Zealand Green Building Council – the nation’s champions for better, healthier buildings.

APL and Warren and Mahoney are joining Bayleys Real Estate and paint pioneers Resene as the primary corporate backers of New Zealand’s leading sustainable building organisation.

John Coop, chair of Warren and Mahoney, said: “At Warren and Mahoney, our buildings are designed to perform. And there’s no way we can do that without putting sustainability, the health of building occupants, and the inevitable shift to zero carbon, at the heart of what we do. That’s why we’re very happy to become a corporate sponsor of the New Zealand Green Building Council. Together, we’re making our buildings better.”

Craig Vincent, chief executive officer of APL, said: “Here at APL we pride ourselves on designing and developing high quality windows and doors. We acknowledge that our product can assist in the overall health of a home or building by providing a higher thermal efficiency, ventilation and light. Aligning ourselves with the New Zealand Green Building Council therefore made total sense. They are doing great work in the building industry to make our homes and buildings better. We are excited to be involved.”

Andrew Eagles, chief executive of the New Zealand Green Building Council, said: “Thanks to APL and Warren and Mahoney, the growing movement to make our buildings better just got a big boost.

“These two companies are leaders in their respective sectors, and their welcome commitment to more sustainable buildings really shows the progressive shift towards healthier, greener buildings in New Zealand. Going green is mainstream.”
