Bumper month for Green Star certifications

Written by NZGBC | 08 October 2020

World Green Building Week hasn't been the only thing we've been celebrating here at the NZGBC recently! With a busy August and September for our Green Star team, we've now awarded seven new Green Star certifications for buildings across the country. While we can't reveal them all just yet, we're busy creating detailed case studies for each of the projects, so watch this space!

We were excited to see the 5 Green Star Design rating confirmed for Tūranga – Christchurch Central Library. Owned by the Christchurch City Council, the Architectus designed library on Cathedral Square boasts five floors connected via a large central atrium.

Cheops Holdings Limited's refurbishment of 22 Boulcott Street in Wellington has been awarded a 5 Green Star Office Built V3 rating.

Two buildings, built in the 1930s and 1960s have been refurbished, upgraded, and conjoined by an open atrium with connecting bridges and a central stair. Impressively, 90% of the project's construction and demolition waste was diverted including recycling 3084 tonnes of concrete. We'll have more details about this exciting project to share shortly.
