It's been a busy start to the year, and we're thrilled to welcome a host of new talent to the NZGBC, including some exciting new roles.
Alex is a Technical Coordinator, administrating and providing technical support to the Green Star Performance and NABERSNZ tools.
Alex graduated with a Master of Civil Engineering and Industrial construction in 2011. He has over eight years of experience in the building industry in different roles. Alex has a passion for climate actions and sustainable built environment and is doing PhD research focused on investigating the sustainable performance of Passive Houses in New Zealand.
Outside of work, Alex enjoys travelling, hiking, reading and spending time with family and friends.
Damiloju (Dami) is the Technical Manager - Residential at the NZGBC, where she provides technical guidance and support for Homestar projects. Her passion is building a sustainable future and as such she takes advantage of every opportunity to drive change.
Damiloju sometimes lectures at Auckland University of Technology (Built Environment), where she is completing her doctoral research on Passive House in the department of Mechanical Engineering / Built Environment. Among her areas of expertise are research, construction technology, energy & environmental management, renewable energy systems, and sustainability.
Dasha has joined NZGBC in January 2022 as Operations and HR Manager, maternity leave cover.
Dasha is originally from Russia, where she has graduated from the National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE), Major - Management, Human resource management.
Dasha started her professional career in 2015 in a recruitment agency and then continued in HR in-house as a professional HR generalist to work within all the main strategic HR management areas internally, including organisational culture management and the organisation's diversity and inclusion approach.
Apart from HR focus work, Dasha is a professional Ballroom and Latin Dancer, and she is teaching and choreographing for various projects around NZ.
Harjot is a Technical Administrator who supports HomeFit, Homestar, NABERSNZ and Green Star certification processes.
Recently Harjot graduated from Auckland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Engineering Technology Major Building Engineering in 2021.
Harjot's Engineering focus has been towards wind-powered generation energy for existing infrastructure and Sustainable Architecture Designing within BIM.
Jo joins NZGBC as Legal Counsel.
After obtaining her law degree and practising in New Zealand, Jo moved to the United States, where she was admitted to the New York Bar. She has worked in New York and Geneva, Switzerland, most recently as a contracts specialist for UNICEF.
Richa works as the Finance Coordinator at NZGBC.
She graduated from Auckland Institute of Studies with Masters In Business Administration specialising in Finance.
Richa's first step into the sustainability industry was working in Rwanda, where she was associated with the manufacturing of lower carbon stoves prior to moving to New Zealand.
