As GM Technical for Toitū Envirocare and with 20 years’ experience in environmental management and climate change, Dr Belinda Mathers has a unique skillset to contribute to the NZGBC. Belinda has extensive experience in developing and delivering programmes to improve environmental outcomes. She has been involved in audits of greenhouse emissions for approximately 700 inventories, many of which were office based organisations or organisations that work in the property development or construction sector, and has a strong interest in ensuring that life cycle emissions associated with construction, operation and end of life of buildings are well managed and align with climate science. Belinda has been working with NZGBC to develop a carbon neutral buildings certification programme, and during that time she has gained an understanding of NZGBC’s approach, values and skills.
