What you need to know

Exploring the future of data collection for buildings in Aotearoa.

NZGBC and EECA have been exploring better ways of capturing data for buildings to build understanding of operating performance, and accelerate benchmarking for different building types. After some investigative work, we would now like to invite you to a workshop to discuss the future of data collection for buildings in Aotearoa.

The workshop aims to answer how we can unlock the market barriers around data accessibility, and the drive for better benchmarking to support the move toward a low emissions future. We are jointly exploring data capturing platforms and the potential opportunities for the property and construction sector. One of our goals is to ensure the final proposal delivers value for the market.

This is your chance to provide feedback and insights from your own experiences. This will be a customer centric, collaborative workshop that will deep dive into the current barriers faced in capturing and collating data, sensitivities in sharing data, usability and reporting.

We will begin with some context setting and draw on the experience of one of our banking partners who is using collective industry level data for climate reporting.

The desired result is to obtain guidance from stakeholders about the way forward, so that EECA and NZGBC may progress work toward a proposal for a centralised data source for buildings.
