Single Project Certification

For a Green Star Buildings Certified Rating, the following fees apply.

For the purposes of calculating fees, an applicant for Green Star certification is the individual or entity that holds all legal right to possess and control the real and personal property associated with any Project. We offer reduced fees for current members of NZGBC but any reduced fee is available only to the applicant and does not include the applicant’s agent.  

Please note price will be determined at time of billing. NZGCB retains the right to review and amend Green Star fees, but the registration fee is a one off and once paid, registration is complete.

Green Star Performance

The certification fee is payable in full upon registration, as well as before Year 1 and Year 2 Audits in Green Star Performance.

For those targeting the energy and water only pathway for Green Star Performance fees differ.

For the purposes of calculating fees, an applicant for Green Star certification is the individual or entity that holds all legal right to possess and control the real and personal property associated with any Project. We offer reduced fees for current members of NZGBC but any reduced fee is available only to the applicant and does not include the applicant’s agent.  

Please note price will be determined at time of billing. NZGCB retains the right to review and amend Green Star fees.
The certification fee is payable in full upon registration, as well as before Year 1 and Year 2 Audits in Green Star Performance.

Multiple Building Certification fees

MSBR and SWCA

Under Green Star Buildings multiple buildings can be registered and certified together with greater efficiency and fee savings.  

Please note, projects must seek approval from the certifications team if they wish to progress either a Multiple Building Single Rating or Site-Wide Credits Approach certification.

Homestar
Certification fees and Project Registration

For Homestar professionals, the following fees apply.

For the purposes of calculating fees, an applicant for Homestar for professionals is the individual or entity that holds all legal right to possess and control the real and personal property associated with any Project. We offer reduced fees for current members of NZGBC but any reduced fee is available only to the applicant and does not include the applicant’s agent.  

Volume discount is available by prior agreement only. Eligible companies must have registered more than 250 dwellings in a twelve-month period and must be a current NZGBC member.

Please note price will be determined at time of billing. NZGCB retains the right to review and amend Homestar fees, but the registration fee is a one off and once paid, registration is complete.

Additional fees:
  • Energy modelling audit fee (Homestar v4 projects and where ECCHO is not used): $450
  • Project amendment fee (where a change is requested after a project has been registered): $160
  • Additional audit round (beyond the two rounds per rating included in the standard fee): $325
  • Homestar Assessors will charge their own fees in addition to the ones in the table above. We recommend getting quotes from several assessors.
  • A project extension of time may incur an additional fee.

 

HomeFit Certification Fees

HomeFit Fees

Assessment Submission fees

Assessors should set their own fees for HomeFit Assessments, depending on costs to travel to site, number of visits required etc. Assessors are responsible for collecting the HomeFit fee payable to the NZGBC as part of their assessment fees (see below).

NZGBC HomeFit fee

The NZGBC HomeFit fee should be part of the assessment fee charged to your client. This fee covers the costs of NZGBC’s time in administering and auditing assessments, and maintaining HomeFit to ensure you are meeting the latest regulatory and technical developments when assessing homes across Aotearoa.

The HomeFit fee is valid for 12 months from the date the initial assessment was submitted. For any additional submissions after 12 months, a further HomeFit fee will be payable.

The NZGBC will invoice HomeFit fees at the start of each month for any assessments completed the previous month.
