Meet our hosts Matthew and Sophie

Matthew Cutler
Matthew is the Residential Impact Manager at the New Zealand Green Building Council, where he works to improve the performance, health and sustainability of homes across Aotearoa. With a background in both engineering and education, he has two decades of experience learning, translating and communicating the complexities of building science into practical solutions. Through his varied roles, including hosting regular podcasts, Matthew has interviewed hundreds of international building experts and is passionate about helping create better places to live. 
Sophie Ciurlionis
Sophie is a Certification Advisor at the New Zealand Green Building Council, helping clients and project teams navigate the certification process and deliver on their sustainability goals. With a background in Chemistry and Environmental Science, she loves solving problems and finding practical, achievable solutions. Driven by a genuine curiosity about people and their experiences, Sophie enjoys uncovering the stories, insights, and passions behind the individuals shaping our built, social and natural environments.
