Become a HomeFit Assessor and support New Zealanders to transform their homes into warmer, drier, healthier places.

HomeFit trainnig support professionals to deliver HomeFit assessments and to understand the Healthy Homes Standards. It assumes that participants already have an understanding of building science and the process of home inspection.

Why become a HomeFit Assessor?

Assessors are equipped with the knowledge and tools to provide vital checks on people's homes. As a HomeFit Assessor you will have:

  • Your details listed in the HomeFit Online Check and the NZGBC directory
  • Access to the HomeFit Assessor web-app for completing assessments and generating reports & certificates for your clients
  • Use of the HomeFit assessor logo in your own marketing materials
  • Access to all downloadable resources and templates
  • An online certificate that you can link to or embed in online media

The HomeFit Assessor course is an online course hosted on our training platform (training.nzgbc.org.nz)

In order to qualify for the HomeFit Assessor course, participants must hold one of the following qualifications or be an existing member of one of the following organisations:

After the successful completion of the training, participants are required to complete an online exam, submit a mock HomeFit assessment and sign the HomeFit Assessor Agreement, which contains the terms and conditions under which they agree to operate as a HomeFit Assessor including insurance requirements.

Holders of HomeFit accreditation are required to renew their accreditation annually.

You will be emailed an invoice one month before your accreditation is due to expire. Maintaining the accreditation is essential for your HomeFit app subscription, if you fail to pay your renewal, access to the assessor app will be denied.

While there are no requirements for FE points for HomeFit Assessors, all professionals will be required to undertake refresher training when a major tool update is released.

Renewal Fees for NZGBC members - $150, non-members $225

The HomeFit Assessor course cost for NZGBC members - $325, non-members - $490.
