Better by Design: Residential Energy Modelling Masterclass
Cut through the confusion. The new Building Code changes mean the old schedule method won’t always cut it. This hands-on Residential Energy Modelling Masterclass shows builders, designers, and developers how to stay ahead - using ECCHO, the Energy and Carbon Calculator for Homes, to make faster, better design decisions.
Build your reputation for better quality, comfortable homes that not only look great but can reduce overheating, manage moisture in roof cavities, and overall better ventilation.
ECCHO is a practical, New Zealand-made tool developed that helps you quickly test what really matters on site - from window placement and insulation levels to heating systems and home orientation. In plain terms, it shows how a home will perform (taking into account where it’s located in New Zealand) before it’s built, helping you avoid surprises, speed up compliance, and keep clients happy.
Why builders are getting on board?
Even homes that “tick the box” for Code compliance can end up too hot, too cold, or too expensive to run. That’s a headache for builders, designers, and homeowners alike.
With ECCHO, you can:
- Spot issues early. Reduce the risk of costly rework or redesigns by testing performance before construction starts.
- Keep it simple. The tool’s built for quick results and practical use
- Stay competitive. Builders using performance modelling are seeing opportunities for winning jobs by proving their homes are more comfortable and efficient.
- Future-proof your business. With Code changes ramping up, understanding modelling now means fewer compliance delays later.
Masterclass benefits
- Learn how to use ECCHO for performance-based compliance under Clause H1 - and how it links to Homestar certification
- Build confidence in trying design options without guesswork
- Receive a free trial 30-day ECCHO licence to keep testing projects after the course
