Training and Events Terms and Conditions

NZGBC courses and events registration and attendance is on the following terms and conditions:

PAYMENT TERMS:

Full payment for registration fees must be received when you register for an event or training course. If you are not able to attend, please contact us so soon as possible as we may be able to work with you to find a new date or transfer your booking to a colleague or wait listed participant.  This excludes courses which require pre-requisites including NABERSNZ Assessor, Homestar Designer and HomeFit Assessor courses.

All prices and transactions processed on this website are in New Zealand dollars and, unless otherwise stated, exclude GST. If payment is made using a credit card issued outside New Zealand, any currency conversion will be done according to the terms and conditions of the card. There may be a currency conversion fee charged by your card issuer.

Any pre-event/course information will be sent to you by email prior to the event/course date.

Please note that the NZGBC reserves the right to postpone or cancel a course or event if minimum numbers are not reached or there is an event beyond our control, for example weather.  Similarly, the NZGBC reserves the right to change the venue of an event or move it online. We will communicate any changes by email.

REFUND POLICY

Courses

Our refund policy is designed to allow for courses to run at full capacity by offering cancelled places to waitlisted participants.  We rely on a minimum number of participants so please let us know in advance if you need to change your registration as last-minute cancellations can affect other registered participants and the course facilitator on the day.

Online training course refund

Refunds cannot be offered for any of our online courses. If you have registered for an online course and no longer wish to take the course you have registered for, if the course had not yet started, a substitute delegate may take your place at the discretion of NZGBC.  We charge a $75 administrative fee to substitute any participant.

In-person and live online training course refund

If you are unable to attend one of our in-person or live online courses, a substitute delegate may take your place in the following circumstances:

  • For our Homestar Designer, NABERSNZ Accredited Assessor and HomeFit Assessor courses there are pre-requisite requirements in place, so a substitute delegate will need to have met these pre-requisite requirements to be eligible to take your place.
  • If are no longer able to attend an in person or live on-line course, please provide at least five business days' notice by emailing education@nzgbc.org.nz.  You may then either opt for a credit to be applied to another NZGBC course, or we can provide a full refund minus a $75 administration fee.

Events

Full payment for registration fees must be received upon registration. If you have registered for an event and are no longer able to attend, a substitute delegate may take your place at the discretion of NZGBC.

If you cannot transfer your booking, a full refund may be provided where our event manager receives notification (events@nzgbc.org.nz) at least 10 business days before the date of the event. If notice of cancellation is not provided or transfer arrangement made less than 10 days before the event, we are unable to provide a refund.

Please note that for our Housing and Green Property Summits, this cancellation notice period is extended with refunds only available if we receive 20 business days’ notice.

Refunds will not be given in any other circumstances except as required by law.

CERTIFICATIONS/ACCREDITATION

If a course or event offered by NZGBC results in a certification or accreditation, these may be issued subject to terms and conditions which NZBBC expects all users to follow.   Any terms and conditions will be notified to you prior to acceptance and use of the certification or accreditation.
