 This year, we are thrilled to host the event at the B201 Building, a world-leading example of low-carbon design, marking a perfect synergy between innovative thinking and sustainable development. 

Throughout the evening, four finalists will present their inspiring work, showcasing how their contributions push the boundaries of sustainable practices. The final winner will be announced during this inspiring, thought-provoking event. 

The Venue
The refurbished B201 Building at the University of Auckland represents the future of sustainability. As one of Aotearoa New Zealand’s most sustainable developments, B201 has transformed a 50-year-old building into a cutting-edge academic environment, embodying the very principles of adaptive reuse, low-carbon design, and innovation.  

This venue sets the stage for the NZGBC Future Thinker of the Year 2025 Award, which recognises individuals who demonstrate exceptional environmental knowledge and leadership in the sustainable building sector.
