Homestar v5: Windows that work
Windows are an important and unique component of a building’s thermal envelope. When designed and installed well, they can make a big difference to the health, comfort and enjoyment benefits of a building. When not done well, windows can cause moisture issues, overheating and stuffiness. In this session, we will explore practical steps for ensuring the benefits of windows while minimising the risks. Window and Glass Association New Zealand (WGANZ) Technical Manager, Rob Campion provides an update on the changes to clause H1 of the Building Code and technical considerations for installing windows in line with wall insulation. This was followed with professional and personal experiences from Joe Lyth of Respond Architects.
