Government green building commitment gets national and international applause

New Events Manager, Aroha Te Kanawa is tasked with delivering the 2018 Housing Summit. With proven ability to run conferences of over 5,000 delegates she can probably do it on her head. Working under pressure needs a sense of humour. To check she'll fit in, the team asked her a few personal questions, starting with the most important.

A: Uber Eats

A: Love Actually – good music, humour, sadness, love

Q: Your favourite Commonwealth games sport?

A: Women’s Rugby Sevens

Q: What has been your biggest life challenge?

A: My two children!

Q: Funniest thing that happened at one of your events?

A: Leaving my daughter aged 5 at the hotel whilst organising closing ceremony for 5000 delegates, packed the car but forgot the child. Luckily I remembered 10 minutes down the road.

Q: Name your must have holiday item?

A: Credit Card (that is in credit!)

Q: Who has been the biggest influence in your life?

A: My parents and grandmothers

Q: Bucket list item?

A: Be Fluent in Te Reo within 2 years.

Q: You could live without… air travel or a flush toilet?

A: Air travel

A: Glamping

A: Create Memories

Q: Lastly, if it wasn't the money, what attracted you to NZGBC?

A: Working for an organisation that has social responsibility.
