What you need to know
The conversation around carbon in construction is evolving rapidly, and staying informed is more important than ever. This NZGBC PluggedIn webinar brings together international and local experts to unpack the latest thinking on upfront and embodied carbon, life cycle analysis (LCA), and emissions reporting.
With a growing focus on material selection, designers and specifiers are seeking clarity amidst complex terminology and shifting standards. Tools like Homestar and V-Quest are helping bridge that gap, enabling smarter decisions at the early design stage.
Using steel as an example, this session highlights how well-informed design can lead to better outcomes. By understanding the full carbon story of materials and systems, professionals can make the best use of the best products for each project.

Every month we hold our increasingly popular webinar series, which has previously covered issues including construction waste, te reo Māori in the built environment, eco labels, social procurement, wellbeing and healthy buildings, climate change, and much more. We also run regular webinars examining specific products and materials, and their relationship with green building certifications.
Demand for these webinars is increasing as our members ask for a range of themes and topic to build market readiness for the increased focus on carbon and the changes coming through certifications.
If you are unable to attend one of our regular webinars, you will be able to view it on our growing library of on-demand videos. For more information please visit https://nzgbc.org.nz/explore-on-demand-videos.
