Adequate ventilation is likely to be the main requirement to bridge the gap between a code compliant home and a 6 Homestar home.
On their own, openable windows may not be enough to properly ventilate a home, yet this is the basic requirement in the current NZ building code.
In past webinars we have addressed the science and some of the options for residential ventilation in Aotearoa. Now as more project teams look in more detail at Homestar v5, it’s timely to dig deeper and review the fundamentals of ventilation.
We’ll look at why the New Zealand Building Code (NZBC) is inadequate, common misconceptions about continuous mechanical ventilation, and how to ensure the best outcome at the right price.
