Designing a high-performance house is a labour of love. Designing for your own family takes it to the next level. The design brief was simple - it needed to be warm and it needed to account for carbon. The outcome is New Zealand's first 10 Homestar (Version 5) rated house.
This presentation will look at what it takes to achieve a 10 HomeStar rating and discuss the challenges and opportunities of designing to this level of performance. We hope to inspire other designers and clients to take a more holistic approach to environmentally sustainable design.
