Fonterra Centre

The Fonterra Centre is the head office of the Fonterra Co-operative Group completed in 2016. This 15,500m² building in Wynyard Quarter brought together office staff who were previously spread across five Auckland sites.

The building and fitout provides good indoor environment qualities using environmentally preferable materials. The environmental sustainable features include an all-electric heating system to deliver a low carbon operating emissions, energy efficient thermal envelope and building services design, and a water conservation system using rainwater harvesting.

The sustainable outcomes were achieved through an integrated fitout design and construction which enabled Fonterra's design requirements (such as key sustainable features, internal layout arrangements, and selection of materials) to be included throughout design; items which can be missed opportunities compared to a conventional design and build approach.
