After over 18months, the consultation process tailoring the new framework “Green Star Buildings” for the New Zealand market is almost complete. Join us for the fourth event in the series as we deep dive into each of the seven categories. 

The ‘Healthy’ category addresses credits related to the health and wellbeing of occupants, it promotes actions and solutions that improve the physical and mental health of occupants.

Joe Quad

Manager - Buildings & Communities - NZGBC

With a background in mechanical engineering and sustainability consulting, Joe is a key part of the Green Star team. He helps projects achieve their sustainability targets and develops new standards to continually challenge the construction industry to strive for more environmentally friendly buildings.

After completing his degree in Building Engineering in Montreal, he spent almost a decade working in the consulting roles on a wide range of projects across New Zealand, Canada and the US. Initially focusing on mechanical engineering, his passion for the environment quickly drew him into the world of sustainable building design.

Cameron Walbran

Associate, Acoustics Team Leader - NDY

Cameron leads the NDY Acoustics team in Auckland. The variety of challenges associated with noise and vibration has allowed Cameron to apply his technical expertise and experience to solve complex acoustic issues.

Cameron has a depth of experience across all sectors including defence, healthcare, industrial, mission critical, residential, commercial offices, education and transport. Cameron has been involved in all stages of design and construction including verification and Green Star submissions.

Josefin Bloom

Technical Coordinator - NZGBC

Josefin is the Technical Coordinator for Green Star. By working with assessors and stakeholders, she oversees the certification process for commercial buildings, interiors, and communities.

Josefin, who is originally from Sweden, has an M.A. in Intersectionality and Change and is currently working toward a second master's degree from Harvard University (HES) in Sustainability.

Josefin began her career in New Zealand at Kāinga Ora by managing building consents for healthier homes. She has been motivated by her passion for social sustainability, particularly diversity and inclusion, to promote resilient communities in Aotearoa.

Tricia Love

Director - Tricia Love Consultants

Trish began her career as a Mechanical Building Services Engineer in the UK before relocating to New Zealand with Arup in 1996. In 2001, she established Tricia Love Consultants to specialise in sustainable design consultation and certification facilitation. Over 23 years , Trish and her team have witnessed the evolution of the Green Star certification tool in NZ, working on some of the earliest certified projects.

Trish also lectures in Architectural Technology at UNITEC and is a certification facilitator and auditor for the ILFI Living Building Challenge certification programme. She enjoys balancing engineering left-brain thinking with right-brain creativity when curating Biophilic design workshops with New Zealand artist Miranda Brown.

Michael Lisowski

Head of Delivery - Metlifecare

Michael brings over two decades of expertise in the design and construction sector, predominantly gained in New York. 2019 he relocated to New Zealand with his wife and two daughters, joining Metlifecare as the Head of Delivery. In this role, Michael oversees the design and construction of approximately $1.5 billion of new developments. He played a key role in Metlifecare's decision to pursue six 6-Greenstar Care Homes, demonstrating his commitment to sustainable building practices. Under his leadership, Michael and his team have consistently delivered industry-leading care homes across New Zealand, establishing a reputation for excellence in the sector.
