NZGBC office achieves ‘excellent’ NABERSNZ rating

New Zealand Green Building Council has just achieved it’s very own NABERSNZ Tenancy energy performance rating of 4.5 stars out of a possible 6. This is considered “excellent performance”. Thanks to Kane Tarrant of Colliers International for assessing the office space. Read more

Green Star buildings collect awards

Our members are up on the awards podium again: Mansons TCLM and collaborators won the Property Industry Awards' Supreme Award for the NZME Central Headquarters; and Jasmax's work on the Fonterra Centre won them the large workspace award at the 2016 Interior Awards, and a merit for Green Building at the Property Industry awards.

Green Star rating at Golden Sands School

A 800sqm classroom block has achieved a 5 Green Star Built rating for its environmentally resilient design; this sits sweetly alongside the school's 5 Green Star rating for phase 1 of its development. Congratulations to Golden Sands School, Papamoa and our members Jasmax, Arrow International, BCD Group, Innerscape and the Ministry of Education, for making it happen.

New Chair for World GBC

Singapore's Tai Lee Siang will lead the WGBC Board of Directors. He's the first Asian to be appointed to this post, reflecting an increasing interest in transformation among Asian cities, and in recognition of the work Mr Tai has already achieved in this area. Mandatory disclosure threshold in Australia reduced to 1,000m2

This announcement was made by the Australian Federal Government with effect from 1 July 2017. The current disclosure programme for all office space of 2,000sqm or more has resulted in an "unprecedented transformation" of the mid-tier office market. Read more
