Spreading the word with RMBA

Over the past weeks, we’ve been working with Registered Master Builders Association across Aotearoa to raise awareness of recent developments in sustainable building and increase understanding of Homestar in raising the standards of our new homes.

It’s with huge thanks to RMBA that we’ve been able to visit their members in New Plymouth, Napier and soon to join them in Nelson and Blenheim, Wellington, and Wairarapa. It’s really motivating to see the high attendance at these breakfast briefings and the follow up discussions drive our belief that there’s a real commitment to healthy homes and buildings.

So, what’s the biggest challenge we’re hearing? Waste. We’ve long suspected this is a major challenge on building projects, especially those outside Auckland and Wellington. We’re working closely with SBN on this challenge and think now, more than ever, we need to support teams who are committed to achieving Green Star and Homestar ratings by taking up the challenge with local councils.

We’re looking forward to meeting more RMBA members soon. And there will be more to come on our commitment to better management of waste across Aotearoa.
