We are grateful to be joined by Yash Bhatia and Zoey Zheng for the next few months as part of our summer internship programme. They’ll be helping our Green Star and Homestar teams as we process a record number of new projects coming through. Please join us in welcoming Yash and Zoey to the team!
Yash Bhatia
Yash has recently completed his first year as a student of Architecture at the University of Auckland, and is interning at the NZGBC under Green Star. Actively undergoing his studies within the building sector, his efforts and potential match those of the NZGBC.
In his final year of school, Yash was actively involved in Physics research, and Captained the New Zealand Team to the International Young Physicist’s Tournament (2021). He hopes to draw upon this background along with his strong creative skills while at the New Zealand Green Building Council.
Yash likes to remain active in his free time. As an escape from studying and working in the built environment, he enjoys training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu regularly. He also actively competes in architecture competitions, taking every opportunity to improve his understanding of what good design might look like.
Zoey Zheng
Zoey joins NZGBC as the Technical Intern. She is currently a student studying the Bachelor of Construction majoring in Quantity Surveying at Massey University. Zoey is a passionate environmentalist and is keen to advocate for a greener and sustainable future in Aotearoa.
In her spare time, Zoey enjoys yoga and acrylic painting. She is also involved in a range of volunteer activities.
