Project Summary:
CourierPost’s purpose-built 21,625 m2 Auckland Operations Centre at Highbrook Business Park is the first industrial building in New Zealand to achieve Green Star Certification for its environmentally sustainable design, achieving a 4 Green Star rating representing NZ best practice.
Developer Goodman (NZ) Limited partnered with CourierPost and the New Zealand Green Building Council to pilot the certification for industrial buildings, giving consideration to environmentally sound and commercially viable building principals.
The Operations Centre houses New Zealand’s largest courier operations centre capable of processing 18,000 items per hour and incorporates a range of attributes that maximise energy efficiency and reduce CO₂ emissions by 60% per annum when compared to a standard industrial building.

- Extended office overhang reducing solar gain to assist with air conditioning efficiency
- Warehouse day lighting through high spec translucent roof sheeting - maximum daylight in but restricting solar radiant heat in
- Low usage water fittings
- Rain water harvesting
- Carbon dioxide monitoring in office and warehouse areas
- Environmentally friendly materials used in the construction of the facility
- 80% of all construction and demolition waste by weight has been re-used or recycled
- Cyclist and foot commuter facilities provided including lockers and showers in the office area and cycle racks under the office canopy
