Farewell and thank you to Emma Bijleveld

Over the past three years many of you may have worked with Emma Bijleveld, our Professional Development Manager and integral part of the NZGBC team.
We are sad to announce that Emma is moving home to the Netherlands, but equally excited for her next adventure.

Emma started with us three years ago as an education coordinator and soon took on the professional development role, where she has played a key part in growing the training arm of the NZGBC.  She has also been instrumental in the Future Thinkers programme, working with our finalists and winners to enrich their careers and ensure their voice is heard.

“I’ve loved working with the passionate and kind people in the sustainability sector, and loved leading the Future Thinkers programme,” says Emma.

“Seeing the uptake in our training over the past three years and growing interest in sustainability has been very inspiring. People want to create a sustainable built environment and our tools help them do that.”

Upon her return home, Emma will be looking to work in the sustainability space. Her time at the NZGBC has lit a fire in her to work towards a greener future – from reducing her own carbon footprint to advocating for ethical consumerism and participating in a circular economy.

A massive kia ora to Emma for all her hard mahi, and we can’t wait to see what your future holds!
