Thanks to the support of industry we are thrilled to launch a new benchmark for logistics warehouses looking to certify their operations with Green Star Performance.

Green Star Performance allows building owners to benchmark how sustainably their building is being used, from how much electricity and water is being consumed, through to considering things like air quality, waste, and the way the building's managed.

To provide an accurate assessment of how well a building is performing, it's often compared to standard building benchmarks. Now for the first time, those benchmarks have been created for New Zealand's warehouses, creating a more straight forward pathway to certification.

Baselining, measuring and monitoring is so important to reach our collective and individual sustainability goals toward net zero carbon and this new benchmark opens up a better approach to rating for the warehousing sector.

Thanks to all those involved in the warehousing sector who provided input and feedback in developing this benchmark, whether it be sharing data, or testing the draft benchmark.

The benchmark is now available, supported by the most up to date version of the 15B calculator, as well as a new guidance document for those who may be new to the tool or considering rating warehouses not specifically for logistics.

These can also be found under on the Green Star Performance webpage under Technical Resources

For each logistics warehouse, once energy data has been added, the calculator will provide an indication of points allocated under Green Star Performance NZ v1.0. If you would then like to process to a formal, independent rating, please contact us.

Learn how to best collect and use consumption data. Our panellists will cover why data and certifications have been used in the industrial sector as well as NABERSNZ for rating the energy efficiency of office buildings.

Our Business Development Manager - Existing Buildings Bobby Shen will discuss our ambitions for the new Green Star Performance warehouse benchmark, how we’ve worked with the sector to develop it, and our ambitions for the future.
